AC Service and Repair for Qatar Homes

Air conditioning in Qatar is not a comfort system — it is a critical system. HomeCare+ services, sanitises, diagnoses and repairs split, ducted and VRF air conditioning in villas, apartments, offices and retail units across Doha, using engineers who maintain the same equipment types on ArconFM's commercial contracts.

What a HomeCare+ AC service includes

  • Full system inspection and performance measurement
  • Indoor coil and blower cleaning
  • Filter cleaning or replacement
  • Condenser coil clean and fan check
  • Refrigerant pressure and temperature verification
  • Drain line clearing and condensate tray clean
  • Sanitation treatment of coil, drain pan and grilles to inhibit microbial growth
  • Electrical connection and control check
  • Written report with condition rating and recommendations

When to call us

  • Air is blowing but the room is not cooling
  • Water dripping from the indoor unit or ceiling
  • Musty or sour smell when the unit starts
  • Ice forming on pipework or the indoor coil
  • Unit tripping the breaker or shutting down repeatedly
  • Noticeably higher Kahramaa bills with no change in usage
  • Rattling, grinding or high-pitched noise from the unit

Repairs we carry out

Compressor and capacitor faults, fan motor replacement, thermostat and control board diagnosis, refrigerant leak detection and repair, gas charging, drainage rectification, ductwork and insulation repair, and complete unit replacement where repair is no longer economic. Where replacement is the right answer we will say so — and show you the running-cost comparison rather than simply quoting a new unit.

Why ArconFM

Most residential AC failures in Qatar are not sudden. They are the visible end of months of restricted airflow, fouled coils and blocked drainage. Our engineers are trained to identify the underlying cause rather than restore cooling for a fortnight. That is the difference between a repair and a temporary fix — and it is why we issue a written report on every visit.

Pricing note

Any diagnostic charge is confirmed before an engineer is dispatched. Servicing is quoted per unit, with reduced rates for multiple units at the same address and for AMC holders.

FAQ
Why is my AC leaking water?

The most common cause is a blocked condensate drain, which lets water back up and overflow from the indoor unit. A heavily fouled coil can also freeze and then drip as it thaws. Switch the unit off to prevent further damage and call us — leaks near ceilings and electrics should not be left running.

Why is my AC running but not cooling?

Usually one of four things: clogged filters or coils restricting airflow, low refrigerant caused by a leak, a failing compressor or capacitor, or an outdoor unit that cannot reject heat because it is blocked or dirty. Topping up refrigerant without finding the leak only restores cooling temporarily, so our engineers locate the cause first.

How often should my AC be serviced in Qatar?

Quarterly, as a minimum — four services a year. Filters should be cleaned more often than that, every one to two months at least, because Qatar's dust load builds up quickly and restricted airflow is what causes most other faults. An annual maintenance contract sets the schedule for you.

Should I repair my AC or replace it?

It depends on the unit's age, condition, refrigerant type and the cost of the repair compared with the running cost of a new, more efficient unit. Older units using R22 refrigerant are becoming more expensive to recharge as the gas is phased out. We give you the comparison in writing and let you decide.
